Description

The first spritz is an energizing freshness derived from aldehydes, old fashioned gorgeous aldehydes which are the signature mark of any great vintage fragrance. This is a youthful fragrance, at least it was in the context of it's time, similar to a softer soapier Chanel No 5 and or Manhattan Rose 44 by Krigler. It's the same scent, but fresher and stronger than the vintage (which may have deteriorated or gone stale? Anyway, I think it is a very good cheap alternative for someone who wants to smell somthing similar to no 5 on a daily basis. Make sure you can get vintage or failing that the 'creamy skin perfume' and layer both with body spray for lethal effect.

I hope this shows in some small way how important this perfume can be for the many people who associate it with a much-beloved matriarch.and I mean YEARS, back in the 60's I remember being able to get three perfumes in a set that were kind of part of a series-Emerald, L'Origon, and L'Aimont. For a moment, it almost smelled like Marsmallow MOR--sweet, fluffy rose-marshmallow--but didn't stay in that near-gourmand range for long at all. I wore it as a teenager 35 or more years ago, tried the current version and thought I must have had apalling taste.

To me, it creates the feeling of serenity and warmth, and can be appropriate for office, for dates and for relaxing at home. I can smell the rose and the ylang-ylang, the hint of sandalwood, and maybe some of the other notes.I also remember smelling a set of three Coty fragrances in cologne strength at Big Lots, a clearance-type retailer which I’m sure in retrospect was flogging perfumes in discontinued packaging or formulas, in the mid-1980s.

I don't believe it is brand new as there is no cellophane wrapping on it and it looks like it has had a few sprays out of it I bought it as a present for a friend who likes it. Memories - I used to wear this when I was at school and my school shirts used to smell really nice when they were ironed. However over time as the initial top notes started to dissipate, the more I sniffed it on me, the more I started to like it. then turns to a scent that is like a rosier version of Avon's Sweet Honesty minus the dreaded plastic note. But the aldehydes burn off rather quickly – in five to ten minutes perhaps, and although it’s definitely aldehydic, it’s much, much gentler than No.

Get ready for exciting updates on our latest offers, product launches, and exclusive beauty content. I wear it to charity fund raiser dinners with my Wall Street Rotary Club and they all love it on me! In this fashion, it’s closely related to Emeraude, which is a vanillic amber, and also to L’Origan, which has a similar oakmoss-sandalwood-vanilla base. The lasting power is absolutely incredible - today I put on a t-shirt I wore 5 days ago and I still get very clear whiffs of it.I find the history of this entangled with Chanel no 5 fascinating, being the history enthusiast I am.
