Description

I'm easily disturbed and the most annoying part about a great thriller like this that you don't want to stop reading is that I have to when night falls.

This wealthy suburb of Dublin has umpteen secrets plastered over with plausible lies, it’s a mission to uncover those and and the truth when it comes makes absolute sense.I started off a bit complacent, feeling like I has a good idea where the story was going - even though I didn't remember the synopsis! The amount of characters makes it difficult to do them all justice, and some ring truer than others. This is very much a character led drama - there are a lot of characters to keep track of, which I did struggle with at first but is definitely worth sticking with as all of a sudden, woosh, I was gripped! Joanna discovers the former owner, Lily Murphy vanished 3 years ago during a neighbourhood game of Hide and Seek.

There isn’t a minute where you can sit back and relax because Andrea keeps the reader on the edge of their seat and gripped, constantly guessing what could have happened?Joanna is curious, has some time on her hands, and draws somewhat tenuous links to her own childhood.

Unbeknownst to them this is the same house that three year old Lily Murphy disappeared from thirty years ago. This story shows how entwined this community was back in the eighties, where everyone knew everyone, how rumours spread and ruined lives while the truth remains well hidden. When Joanna, her husband and family move back to Marks hometown of Ravensbrook, she loves their new house. And I will admit that these are are quite interesting- certainly more interesting than the first three quarters of the book. We all know these characters, whether we love or hate them, it becomes ridiculously hard not to become invested in them.
