They do work, they are well made and we test every one ourselves and on our wide range of clients before they are ever released to be sold online. A bowl that’s too small for your pet’s size could be too tempting for your large, chew-happy dog to get their mouths on. Perhaps you have concerns about dog bloat, gastric dilatation volvulus (GDV) or them gulping their food and chowing down too fast. Not only is this undesirable for your dog, but also for you, who now has to clean up a mess of dog food crumbs. The only design flaw we could find was that it doesn't come apart for cleaning so would need to be washed by hand.

It's worth pointing out that the EasyEat is fairly small and maximum food amounts are : dry -180g, raw - 250g and wet - 220g. If your large dog eats 6 cups of kibble per meal, a slow feeder that only holds 2 cups isn’t going to cut it. Maybe it was just my muffin pans, but all dogs – large and small – were able to tip and spill their food when they placed a foot on the edge of the pan.Our Chihuahua tester, Fiona, had to pace back and forth and even climb into the bowl to get her small meal.

First impressions from us humans as we took the Dogit Go Slow bowl out of it’s box were that it’s sturdy and solid with a decent weight to it. Despite the larger maze, big dogs still couldn’t fit their snout inside – which is exactly what you want when it comes to slowing down meal time. It has wider channels and shallow dips to enable flat-faced dogs enjoy the benefits of a slow-feeder bowl without driving them to frustration because they can’t reach their food. As working vets with over 30 years' experience, we are in the front line of seeing the increasing obesity in all our pets and the resultant ill health and reduced life spans.Breakfast time as you can imagine is an exciting part of the day for our dogs and they all love their food. Remember, this is not a chew toy – your dog could be tempted, so do remove the bowl and insert after the meal. Unlike some of the more intricate designs it isn’t hard for a dog to work out how to access the food and doesn’t provide the same mental challenge but the eating process took much longer.

However, right now, I see no good reason to choose a ceramic slow feeder over our other recommendations. It is an ideal design for dogs who find the intricate puzzles too complicated and frustrating, as this bowl slows rapid eaters down without driving them crazy. Made by eco-friendly, food grade material, the non-slip design at the bottom stop the bowl from moving around reducing mess on the floor. It's worth mentioning that it's not spill-proof and you may well get some food falling on the floor as it doesn't have a raised edge. This design is simple with raised partitions so that Daisy had to work her way between each one to access the dry food.

The iGadgitz Home feeder bowl slow down your pet eating speed reduces the risk of gastric bloat, choking and overeating, helping your pet stay fit and healthy! While each slow-feed dog bowl may look different, they all are designed to slow any dog who wolfs down their food. Therefore please refer to the individual size chart that is shown in each product's description before making your size selection.
