Concha Time' has everything I love about the movie, ' That's The Way It Is', PLUS lots of what we would all wish was actually in the film. In From the Side’ takes aim at these preconceived notions, tackling common stereotypes of gay men in sport and how it is possible for healthy, non-toxic masculinity to thrive in this environment.I've been waiting for this film to be shown in one of our local independent "art" theaters since January, but so far nada. Alas, it fell into the hands of people who have no idea how to tell a story, and no salvage lies in the dull soft-porn scenes they desperately welded in. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.
