For some reason I had the bright idea that I could use small pieces of foam to cover the gaps I had inbetween the detailing and the helmet itself.

To be honest, I couldn't really point out in the design what these were, so I ended up just making small covers to have the effect. This was the base for version 2, I was a lot more pleased with this one and started shaping it more to become like Chi-Chi's helmet! And now let's get to the part how not every idea is a good idea and I sometimes think to myself "why did I even try to make this work"?The Chichi Dragon Ball Z Cosplay is perfect for all young girls who don't let themselves be walked on. I sometimes wear my helmet or other parts seperately at lazy days on conventions, just because I like how they turned out. I’ve considered writing up a glove tutorial eventually since I wanted to toss one together for Sora’s (since a tutorial for that is non-existent) XD I’ve come across a few here and there. She looked incredibly cute, was very though, but became all girly and fiddly when her crush was around!

Even though I didn't like the fit around my fingers, I was quite content with how I made the outer shape (I used a likewise method as how I made the boots covers). I got both positive and negative reactions on my color choice, but I think it looks very 80's, so I like it! Luckily everything went quite well, but I think it was also one of the reasons why I screwed up during the act.Normally I'm not the type for video-tutorials (I prefer pictures), but when a friend showed me his Youtube channel I was hooked! I remember struggling so much with it, while it's actually a joke compared to a lot of other costumes I've made.

When the costume was close to finishing I uploaded this teaser to show what I had so far and also to show how the design from the cape and top works View spoiler Hide spoiler the fabric at the top of my shoulders is not visible when wearing the wig and this was also before ironing everything, so pardon the small mess :P.That way the weight of the cape was on the top, my chest and my back instead of resting on the shoulderplates. People weren't necessarily impressed with the costume or act, but they said it was really nice to see an "old" design character, considering most cosplay competitions here nowadays are filled with people in big fantasy armors in likewise styles (not that there is anything wrong with that, but you see a lot of likewise outfits in a competition over here). Sorry for this incredibly long post, I hope you guys liked it and I hope to also see you at my next blog! I did a lot of test rounds at home and was wearing the costume since 6AM that morning without any problems and when it was almost time for me to get on stage (around 3PM) parts started to malfunction, so I got quite stressed thinking "what if something breaks or falls off on stage? If I would re-do this part, I would have made the seamline less obvious, but I'm still quite happy with how this turned out!

Even though it's a very important part when making a costume and something you can't escape if you want to make helmets/armor/props. On the other hand a few things on stage went bad, so I think I'm not that sad about it, as I would prefer not to see it back as I don't feel very comfortable about it.

Before this costume I've made 4 pairs and each of them fell apart quite quickly, no matter which tutorial I followed to make them.
