The text covers the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, highlighting the importance of midwives as global citizens with common goals, and together they form a strong global community prepared to challenge social inequalities and take action to help end extreme poverty. Reflective questions at the end of each chapter as well as annotated further reading aid reflective learning and stimulate discussions relating to continuing professional development. The book has been identified as Book of the Year as part of the seventy-fifth anniversary celebrations of the American Journal of Nursing. This project complements a huge effort by Beat SCAD and the UK SCAD clinical team to disseminate knowledge about SCAD to our Midwifery colleagues, and we are sure this will reduce the numbers of patients with delayed diagnosis of pregnancy associated or post-partum SCAD.

After the loss of her son, Myles left her position as a district nurse at Alford, Aberdeenshire and decided to re-train as a nurse at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Co-edited for the second time, by internationally renowned midwife educationalists, Professor Jayne E Marshall and Maureen D Raynor from the United Kingdom with a team of contributors from across the midwifery community it retains its clear, accessible writing style.Beat SCAD would like to thank Professor Marshall for the opportunity and Victoria, Haley, Nicki, Rachel and Robyn for their contributions to this brilliant result for the SCAD community. Marshall, FRCM, PFHEA, PhD, MA, PGCEA, ADM, RM, RN, Foundation Professor of Midwifery and NMC Lead Midwife for Education, School of Allied Health Professions, College of Life Sciences, George Davies Centre, University of Leicester, UK and Maureen D. The world's most popular midwifery textbook presents practical and comprehensive coverage of anatomy and physiology as well as the important topical issues of midwifery practice.

Methods A descriptive phenomenological analysis of data from 48 semi-structured interviews with registered nurses from two National Health Service (NHS) hospitals (purposive sample) was used to explore the concept of autonomy. This will increase awareness of SCAD among student midwives and hopefully lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment for women who have a SCAD during or after pregnancy. The content is the same but the cover is different so if you're trying to save some money this book is great. Covers designing and implementing high quality midwifery care using evidence, policy and models of care.

Results Six themes were identified: working independently; working in a team; having professional skills and knowledge; involvement in autonomy; boundaries around autonomy; and developing autonomy requires support. This counters many other published articles which have tended to say that clinicians never recommend pregnancy after SCAD. Specific metrics were developed under five thematic areas including Sustainability, End User Enjoyment, Project Performance, Cultural Performance and Respect for People. This qualitative study aimed to explore the understanding and experiences of autonomy of nurses working in England.
