Last year's Latitude 7310 supported a single 4K display on each Thunderbolt 3 port, as Dell used the base spec. That means that Thunderbolt 4 is actually a big improvement, offering double the bandwidth. The Latitude 7320 that Dell sent me includes a Core i7-1185G7, 16GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD. Strangely enough, when I went to price it out on, there were no configs on there with over 256GB of storage. That's just an interesting fact though; businesses can get PCs through other channels that no doubt have additional customization options. Intel's U-series processors, now called UP3, have been great at productivity for a long time, but now you can do more creative work on them. There's some actual graphics power here. Photo editing is no problem, nor is FHD video editing. It's a great product. I scored a solid 87 words per minute with 93% accuracy on the 10fastfingers test. My usual average is between 70% and 85%. The 720p HD IR webcam on the Dell Latitude 7320 is par for the course when it comes to integrated webcams. The colors in my test shots were nicely saturated including my tawny complexion. Details were sharp, capturing minute aspects of my beard and facial features.

Work wherever: Our 2-in-1s feature Corning ® Gorilla ® Glass, which offers premium glass innovation for better readability and durability, so you can work anywhere your job takes you. * It also gets Intel Xe graphics – a chipset that offers dramatically better performance than the Intel UHD chipsets used in last-gen Intel processors. While this may not be useful from a business perspective, Intel Xe lets the Latitude 7320 handle games such as The Witcher 3 well enough. We evaluated the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable as one of the three major offerings in the tablet space for 2021, along with the Microsoft Surface Pro 7+and the Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 1. We’ve highlighted the Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable in red, and the Surface Pro 7+, its chief competitor, in yellow in the charts below.Incidentally, Dell configured its Windows power/performance slider at the midrange setting. Microsoft uses the lowest-performance/longest-battery life setting instead, which does make a small difference; you can read the Surface Pro 7+ review to discover how much. The section below provides links to articles that contain information about the different hardware on your system. They can help you to troubleshoot any problems that might be identified by the above diagnostics. There are also general "How to" articles that can help with tasks, for example like updating the BIOS or upgrading a hard drive. AC Adapter and BatteryThe Dell Latitude 7320’s display is, as you might guess, extremely practical. It’s a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen with a matte finish, scattering reflections for easier use in bright environments.

For information about systems that have been upgraded to Windows 10 please see the following article: Next is Maxon's CPU-crunching Cinebench R15 test, which is fully threaded to make use of all available processor cores and threads. Cinebench stresses the CPU rather than the GPU to render a complex image. The result is a proprietary score indicating a PC's suitability for processor-intensive workloads. I didn’t find the screen immediately impressive, though. This is was down to the only passable contrast, and the fact that matte screens tend to look slightly less appealing than glossy ones. The Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable’s webcam has one big thing going for it: the user-facing webcam offers 1080p/30Hz resolution, on a par with the small number of standalone 1080p webcams that offer Windows Hello biometric login capabilities. (720p remains the most common webcam resolution.) Otherwise, the webcam doesn’t offer anything special in terms of its white balance or color accuracy. There’s no physical camera shutter, nor is there a button to disable the webcam on the keyboard. Though some persist in taking photos with Apple iPads and other tablets, the rear camera is probably best used to snap shots of documents and import them into Word or other productivity tools.

Stunningly good looks: A brushed aluminum body gives this detachable a sleek, modern style while its enterprise-class keyboard delivers a premium look that means business. The Dell Latitude 7320 has a 63Wh battery, which is notably larger than the 52Wh of the Dell XPS 13. The 7320 comes with an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU and performs smoothly while watching videos or playing some games. Playing Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Gathering Storm in 1080p, our unit scored an average of 20 frames per second, which is below the 28-fps premium laptop average. The Surface Pro 7+ scored just 15fps.

Here's where it gets even better. Since Intel was so short on Ice Lake chips, all business PCs came with Comet Lake. The company didn't even make a vPro variant of Ice Lake. So while Tiger Lake is a big improvement on Ice Lake, it's an even bigger improvement over Comet Lake, which is what was in the Latitude 7310.

The Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 is a perky performer and a stylish travel partner

The Latitude 7320 took 17 minutes and 16 seconds to convert a 4K video to 1080p on the Handbrake test. It was nearly a full minute slower than the category average (16:31). The EliteBook had a faster time of 16:25, while the Surface Pro dragged its feet with a time of 23:41. Of course, if you’ll use this laptop as part of a company with careful IT policies, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to install these anyway. Battery life Before I joined the tech-journalism ranks, I wrote on topics as diverse as Borneo's rain forests, Middle Eastern airlines, and Big Data's role in presidential elections. A graduate of Middlebury College, I also have a master's degree in journalism and French Studies from New York University. Dell Command updates monitor your system to ensure it is always up-to-date with the latest BIOS, drivers and firmware. Dell Optimizer software is a beautiful tool that analyzes your system in real-time and alerts you to anything that needs tweaking. Last, but certainly not least, is my favorite piece of Dell software: Dell Power Manager not only optimizes battery usage but gives the user fine control of how your battery is used. We saw similar results in our Handbrake video-editing trial, another tough, threaded workout that's highly CPU-dependent and scales well with cores and threads. In it, we put a stopwatch on test systems as they transcode a standard 12-minute clip of 4K video (the open-source Blender demo movie Tears of Steel ) to a 1080p MP4 file. It's a timed test, and lower results are better.
