The Hairy Bikers' Great Curries: The One-Stop Cookbook for the Best Curries, Rice, Bread and Chutneys You've Ever Tasted The Hairy Bikers' British Classics: Over 100 Recipes That Celebrate Simple, Timeless Cooking and the Nation’s Favourite Dishes Third mum Mariken is from the Netherlands and, while it's only a few hundred miles across the North Sea, the cuisine is a million miles away from anything the Bikers are used to. Deep fried meaty kroketten and a pea and ham soup, with most of a pig's head in it, provide a complete contrast to the food of the first two mums.If your favourite meals are made using the tried and tested method of other home cooks, you'll be pleasantly surprised by this diverse selection of recipes.

Mix the butter, parsley, garlic, spring onions and grated cheese in a bowl. Divide this stuffing into four and form each portion into a sausage shape. Set aside. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a large frying pan. Brown the oxtail over a medium heat for about 10 minutes, turning every now and then, until dark brown all over. You may need to add extra oil if the pan looks dry at any point during the browning step. Put the browned oxtail into a flameproof casserole dish. (You may need to do this in batches.) Si and Dave comment: "Well here we go! What a treat, food with a load of love! Great British food from the custodians of culinary traditions, our Mams, Grannies and Dads. We have rummaged in the bottom drawers, cupboards and memories of houses and families across the nation for their secrets, recipes and top cooking tips. It’s been a great party. We’ve been around the world, baked ourselves into a frenzy and nibbled and cooked some of the best food in the country. Now it’s time for something really special, truly delicious food from the people who know best". Nothing connects you to home like the smell of the food your mum used to cook, so the Hairy Bikers visit three mums to share their unique taste of home. En route, Si and Dave rustle up some food that they find comforting - creamy tomato soup with rouille, home-made fish fingers, a rich oxtail stew and a classic steamed syrup pudding. The Hairy Bikers Veggie Feasts: Over 100 Delicious Vegetarian and Vegan Recipes, Full of Flavour and Meat Free! Return the frying pan to a low heat and add the onions, garlic, carrots and celery. Add a little extra oil if necessary. Cook gently for 10 minutes, or until softened and lightly browned, stirring occasionally. This beautiful cookbook brings together over 100 of the nation's favourite recipes from the second series of BBC2's MUMS KNOW BEST. It includes Si and Dave's personal family recipes as well as their favourite recipes that they discover through the mums they meet and the recipe fairs they hold. Episodes include Comforting Food, High Tea, School Dinners and Al Fresco. But it's also a call to arms; the series aims to bring together grannies, mums and daughters who love to cook, to ensure that these precious historical documents of our shared national cuisine are preserved for the future. Wash the oxtail pieces and pat dry with kitchen paper. Trim off as much excess fat as possible. Put the flour in a freezer bag and season well with salt and pepper. Put half the oxtail pieces into the seasoned flour, toss well to coat then set aside on a plate. Repeat with the remaining oxtail pieces.

Each week's Recipe Fair has a different theme such as Sunday Dinners, Show Off Dinners, Picnics, Birthday Parties, Family Favourites and Good Simple Suppers, and all the recipes fit into that theme. At the heart of each is the Mums Know Best Banquet, catered by three ''VIP Mums' who showcase a great family recipe that needs to be shared with the nation.
