About this deal
A cable entry point in the main tent lets you connect your electrical gadgets to the electric hook-up point and there are rings in the living and sleeping areas to hang camping lanterns from. The Vail 4L uses fibreglass poles that are colour coded and slide into the outer sleeves easily. The pitching process took about 10 minutes, 15 if you count pegging out the guy lines too. That was with 2 of us pitching the tent, it could be done by one person but it is a lot more fiddly (something we will explain in a future article/video). For extra peace of mind, the stoppers on the tent doors ensure that zips are always within easy reach in the event of an emergency, even for children. Moving into the main living area, head room is good, there’s a side door with inner mesh panel so if it’s warm you can roll up the outer and leave the mesh zipped in place. Ideal for keeping kids and dogs inside, and the bugs on the outside. The large front door has the same inner mesh and outer setup, with the lower lip being able to be pegged out flat, making wheelchair and pushchair access much easier. It might also act as less of a tripping hazard if you've had one too many beers around the campfire. Dome tents are generally being ditched in favour of tunnel tents in family camping grounds because they can’t compete for space. However, they are still very popular with hikers and trekkers because small dome tents are quite stable and lightweight. Dome tents with geodesic designs are very good at dealing with extreme weather.
