I also take 800-1200 mg a day of mag aspartate, and I noticed when I switched recently to mag malate and mag citrate, the RLS grew. Diagnosis for restless leg syndrome begins with a medical history and a review of your symptoms. Your doctor will compare your symptoms to the criteria established by the International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group. You may also be asked to undergo a physical and/or neurological exam as well as certain blood tests and even a sleep study. Since it’s less itchy than other brands, it may be a good base to determine if you need something milder, or if the brand fits perfectly for you. The good news is that increasing your magnesium intake and therefore soothing your RLS symptoms is easy with the right products. We’d like to offer you a home trial

RSL for 9+ years. One solution I have found, its a family thing, is a medication that most doctors do not think of. Carbidopa/Levodopa (25mg/100mg) is what was prescribed to an uncle about 12 years ago. When my RLS began, I started on it and find that as long as I take it on a regular schedule, it is effective most of the time. Right now, I’m prescribed 3 pills at bedtime, but I do have to start around 3pm. I’ll try to take a 1/2 pill then, another 1/2 at about 8pm and then the final 2 when I wake up during the night. Right now I’ve gotten to the point where that is no longer enough so I will try the Magnesium. I just wanted to share what really helped me. I discovered after a life time of drinking milk that milk protein will always give me RLS if I have too much. The day I gave up milk, I close enough cured it. I worked it out because a few years ago I started having RLS every night instead of occasionally. Eventually realised it was milk protein as over those months I had been drinking more. I can drink A2 milk but not lactose free as that makes no difference as it’s not the lactose that’s the problem. Artificial sweeteners do the same. I think people have to work out what food is causing inflammation in the body that triggers it. Nothing else helped.

Magnesium helps you sleep, soothes aching muscles and even reduces anxiety. We reveal the best supplements to boost this wonder mineral

Magnesium Oil Original spray can be used by everyone. It's fine to use during pregnancy and nursing, for children and for those following diabetic, coeliac, vegan and vegetarian diets.

Now instead of RLS being a nightly occurrence I get it at most 3-4 times a month, and I can almost always link it to one of the triggers I listed above. You may have tried to take a stroll, stretch your legs or even massage them with little effect. But what if we've been getting the cause of RLS wrong all this time? What if magnesium deficiency is really to blame? This deliciously nourishing cream also contains shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and vitamin E, so it’s a real treat for your skin. A great product for relaxing your muscles and relieving tension after a long day.If magnesium alone doesn’t resolve your symptoms, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss alternative remedies and medications that may benefit you.

If restless legs syndrome is badly disrupting your sleep, a short-term course of medicine may be recommended to help you sleep. Restless Leg Syndrome is one of those odd medical conditions that isn't always taken seriously. I mean, how do you explain to someone that when you try to sleep at night your legs feel 'jumpy' or 'crawly'? It sounds like something a TV hypochondriac would have. Sibler MH, Buchfuhrer MJ, Earley CJ, et al. The management of restless legs syndrome: an updated algorithm. Mayo Clinic Proceedings. 2021;96(7):1921-1937. doi:10.1016/j.mayocp.2020.12.026 And the condition isn’t so rare, either. According to NICE, the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, the prevalence of RLS in the UK, US, and Europe is between 5 and 10 percent of the population . Magnesium is found naturally in many foods and in your body. But like most things, there are dangers with getting too much. A magnesium overdose may… READ MOREMagnum Solace offers an oil spray that takes magnesium from a place historic for both mysterious texts and healing properties–the Dead Sea. Just like any other medical condition it's a good idea to see a doctor if you have RLS. Not only are there prescription medications that can help relieve your symptoms (I do have Ropinerole on hand if I need it), your doctor can do a blood test to see if you have low levels of most vitamins and minerals. I am a retired labor and delivery nurse, and your use of magnesium to calm the nerves and muscles is so very appropriate! Whenever we had a mom come in with pre-eclampsia or eclampsia ( a group of symptoms i.e. high blood pressure, twitching, dizziness, headache. swelling, etc.) we would administer IV Magnesium Sulfate! Usually worked like a charm! All systems would relax. blood pressure would decrease, and mom got a good night’s sleep! Thanks for the advice. I didn’t think to use it for my granddaughter who suffers from restless leg syndrome. I will try it right away. The best way to treat RLS is with any form of magnesium because magnesium relaxes muscles and nerves. There’s strong evidence that magnesium deficiencies can contribute to RLS. Taking a daily magnesium supplement may help reduce symptoms and can improve sleep quality.
