Description

There’s the “Alto”, which takes its aesthetic influences from the signature Wayfarer style of brands like Ray-Ban, as well as the ‘Rondo”, which offers a more rounded frame style. Allowing for such detail and spritely definition makes the Frames not just functional, but friendly when you put them on, almost daring you to take them along on your outdoor adventures — especially when the sun is shining brightly above.

The glasses themselves have trackers inside and use the GPS on your smartphone to work out your location. The Tenor fits my face better than the Soprano, which -- as its name implies -- Bose is aiming at women who like oversized sunglasses (my daughter likes them).A pretty swanky protective case is included along with a cleaning cloth that's also a storage pouch for the proprietary charging cable -- don't lose the cable or you can't charge your glasses. View image in fullscreen Sensors are hidden in the frames that can detect your head position and interactions such as taps to the side of the glasses. Charging is fairly slow and needs a proprietary magnetic USB cable that snaps on to the inside of the right arm. On the USB charger, there will be text that indicates the amp (A) or milliamp (mA) rating of the charger. If you adjust the volume to maximum levels, there’s a noticeable compression of the audio material, while the already weak bass vanishes completely.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. You get just over three hours of continuous listening out of the Frames before the battery runs dry, which is normally enough. Not only do you have extraordinary levels of freedom to look forward to when listening to music and audio content, you can also enjoy phone communications where your own voice is clearly audible and conversations are altogether more pleasant. The app also offers other basic functions, including firmware upgrades and download links to Bose’s nascent AR apps, designed to offer a swell of new use cases for your Frames — but only for iPhones and iPads at present. She's also the Australian Managing Editor of Digital Camera World and, if that wasn't enough, she contributes to T3 and Tom's Guide, while also working on two of Future's photography print magazines Down Under. It's hard to completely assess the Frames without experiencing the upcoming AR features, but what I can say after experiencing their baseline features is that they're a compelling wearable that has a chance to shake up the audio market in the coming years. He covers the gamut of gadgets and is a notable reviewer of mobile accessories and portable audio products, including headphones and speakers. To update your product, you can either connect it to a computer with a USB cable and then visit the Bose update site or you can update it wirelessly from the free Bose Connect app on an Android or iOS device. The concept is you're getting a decent pair of sunglasses with a pair of headphones that don't actually go in your ears. Even exploring with my old iPhone, the applications are limited, offering augmented story simulations for workouts (which also work with headphones), ambient soundscapes, and a few other basics.
