This is the inside story of one man fight to prove his innocence in one of the country's longest murder cases. Spackman’s involvement in another case, involving cloned credit cards, led to the successful appeal of the two men convicted. He said that it wouldn't be reasonable to use the car that he was driving his family around a few days before as a getaway vehicle. The first is that the Crown and the Police fear it would open the floodgates to expose many other miscarriages of justice, such was the prolific nature of DS Spackman's criminal activities and, second, there may be a fear that Spackman has information on very top level people which may exposed if he is subject to further criminal proceedings.

I've known Kevin Lane for years and I just recently bought his two books (Glammenport and Lodestone) and after reading them I am left wanting more!

However in January 1995, Kevin was shockingly and alarmingly arrested for the 1994 contract killing of Robert Magill. Having been locked up for a murder that he claims he did not commit, infuriated him because people do not look out for a prisoner's mental health. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. Although annoyed, I must say this seller is very professional and refunded my purchase promptly, in a most courteous manner--somewhat remarkably for such a small dollar amount. I also twisted his arm to get him to include images which I think is a nice touch and I hope others enjoy them too.

His case was initially covered in the Guardian in 2001 and was later the subject of a short film as part of the Guardian’s Justice on Trial series. Panorama’s episode in May 2018, Last chance for Justice which featured Kevin’s plight, uncovered new evidence. Having watched his podcast with James English, where he came across a very intelligent and successful guy, I contacted him through social media to try and purchase his book, and was thrilled when he swiftly responded and then sent me a personalised signed copy, what an absolute gent. Very good book, hopefully when appeal is won it must lead a great deal of change to legislation within law of the criminal justice system, and powers of investigation and witholding of evidence used or unused because the ultimate outcome in a court of law is supposed to be the truth and also LAW ITSELF IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON TRIAL. Comparisons are difficult and only Raymond E Feist’s Magician really comes to mind and this only because of both books featuring two very different worlds. The leading investigating Police Officer Detective Inspector Christopher Spackman was arrested and sent to prison in 2003.

Robert Magill was known for his involvement in protection rackets and after his murder, witnesses saw two men with a mask running away in a red BMW.Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde Islands, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, Cook Islands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), Finland, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Gabon Republic, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guam, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mexico, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Montserrat, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Niue, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Republic of Croatia, Republic of the Congo, Reunion, Romania, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts-Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Svalbard and Jan Mayen, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vatican City State, Venezuela, Virgin Islands (U. Both men have denied their involvement in the Magill murder and in his book, Lane reveals some details about the cases.

Kevin Lane has not re-invented the genre here but he has taken it and produced a highly polished, skilful and above all enjoyable book that will allow readers to escape into a richly textured fantasy world. A man serving a life sentence for a controversial hitman murder committed nearly 30 years ago has taken the unusual step of publishing a book from inside prison with fresh evidence he hopes will lead to his conviction being overturned. After a second trial in 1996, Kevin was convicted, by a ten to two majo Kevin Lane was a hard working and high earning young man, with a promising future ahead of him. After two trials, he was convicted by a majority verdict of murdering Robert Magill via a contract shooting in Hertfordshire. Prisoners are not only locked up with nowhere to go during a lockdown because of a pandemic but they're locked up for many years, some for the rest of their lives. Lane claims that in a previous confrontation, when Lane was 21, he had met Spackman when he was briefly arrested in connection with a car-ringing operation. He has always believed there was a conspiracy to put him on trial and by turning detective and lawyer he has discovered things about bent coppers and their relationships with serious criminals that look like a plot from the Sopranos.
