Description

YOu ccould use the story for inspiration to create a Toy Fact File using one of the characters from this EYFS/KS1 picture book. The story is about how the toys in the museum come to life at night and decide to play hide and seek.

When it arrived and I read it I wasn't that impressed by the story, I thought it might be more exciting! Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It could be used as a basis for many aspects of ks1 or 2 such as story telling ,use of alliteration ,Bethnal Green background and igniting children's imagination with hide and seek story . I personally would use it as a topic book for whole class use, and perhaps be able to use it within guided reading for the lower ability groups to take a closer look and discuss it further. The toys at the museum come alive after the lights go off and have adventures, apart for old Bunting who likes to take care of the other toys and teach them the history of the museum.

Overall a very good quality service from this seller and I would not hesitate to recommend this seller. His philosophical fable, The Lying Carpet, was described by The New York Times as "a dreamy experience - the language is lovely; the free verse has an offbeat rhythm; the illustrations are breathtaking. I love the character of Bunting, the sensible and rather boring old toy cat, who lets his hair (or should that be fur ?

The children will explore the box and make simple sentences to describe some of the toys inside the box. As a child he enjoyed drawing and writing, and he went on to study at St Martin’s School of Art and then the Royal College of Art.

His first book as author and illustrator, Halibut Jackson, was greeted by The Financial Times as an "instant classic". With the help of a series of notes, he finds them, and they reveal that they were playing Hide and Seek. It would also be suitable for EAL students as the illustrations throughout are fantastic and would help bridge any gaps or misconceptions in the written text.

David Lucas is an extraordinary new talent in children's picture books - in 2008, he was named as one of The Big Picture campaign's Best New Illustrators. As he follows the trail of clues through the museum, the normally reserved Bunting learns how to have fun in this affectionate picture book from one of Britain's brightest new talents.
