Lightweight and Easy – If you’re not capable of fighting to push a heavy mower or simply don’t want to, you’ll like the Bosch Rotak 34R as it’s just over 10 kg and rolls along nice and easily. This also makes transporting the mower to and from the shed an easy task rather than an ordeal. A lot of consumers also point out that the weight distribution on this mower is a lot more centralised than on its predecessor too.

The Bosch Rotak 34R has several features that make it impressive. These include an integrated roller, side combs to enable close edge trimming, 5 adjustable cutting heights (from 20 – 70 mm), a 40-litre grass box, and a 34 cm cutting diameter. Powerdrive Motor –I have to say that I am really impressed with the powerdrive motors that Bosch use in the Rotak range. They really are as advertised; they don’t bog down anywhere near as much as other motors I have used in the past. This doesn’t mean it’s won’t have to work harder in longer grass, but it does deal with those situations very nicely and you can hear that the motor has plenty of capacity to spare. A real powerhouse at the heart of this mower! The Bosch Rotak 34R lawn mower is one of the best electric lawnmowers on the market today in the UK. It offers stupendous value for money and is so easy to operate. This particular model is slightly larger than the Bosch Rotak 32R as it has a 34 cm cutting width instead of a 32 cm one. Features: The Bosch Rotak 34 comes with a grass box that can be fitted to the body of the mower. This grass box has a capacity of 40 litres which is the perfect size for a small to medium sized lawn. Since it is constructed of molded plastic, you will not feel overburdened with the grass box attached to the mower. This grass box is extremely light and you will not sacrifice mobility and speed by having it attached to the mower. In addition to being light a efficient, the grass box is easy to attach and remove. Emptying the grass clippings from it could not be any easier as well. Never overthink grass collection again when you use the Bosch Rotak 34R.

Bosch Rotak 34 – Assembly

Even though the manufacturers claim you don’t need to do any edge trimming after mowing because of the side combs, this wasn’t entirely true. While I don’t have walls or fences to test these against, I do have raised sleepers. Grass Collection– In terms of grass collection, this one’s a belter! All of the clippings are collected and compacted really well, you don’t get lines of clippings sprayed everywhere that you have to clean up. Installing the handles was much easier. Usually, it’s better to have two people help with fitting lawnmower handles, but this wasn’t necessary with the Bosch Rotak 34R. Before screwing them in, the poles slotted into the sides, which made fixing and tightening the bolts easy to do alone.

Now we’re going to discuss the potential deal breakers; the most common cons cited when it comes to this mower. You’ll need to figure out whether you can learn to live with them. First things first, we’re going to start off by pointing out the things that consumers feel the Bosch Rotak 34 electric mower does well. When fixing the bolts, the manual recommends wearing gloves as the mechanisms can be oily. Gloves aren’t provided in the kit, so I didn’t use any. I noticed the oily residue while I was screwing things in, but it was easy to avoid. The grass box does not have an indicator level like many other collection boxes on comparable lawn mowers do. Maneuverability – There’s no self propel feature on this model so you will have to push it up and down your lawn, but to be totally honest this isn’t a big deal at all because at 11kg it’s not like you will be pushing a car or something. This thing is light.The low weight combined with the compact design means this model is nice and maneuverable. The inset front wheels are also a real bonus when going around tight corners. It’s easy to push up slopes too. Tops marks for Bosch on maneuverability!It may be difficult to tell the difference between Bosch petrol lawnmowers and Bosch electric lawnmowers. Bosch electric lawnmowers are much stronger and last for much longer that comparable electric lawnmowers from other competing companies. Even if you have a large lawn, a Bosch electric lawnmower can definitely handle it. There is no need to splurge on a petrol powered lawnmower for your large garden or yard when you have the option of buying a Bosch electric lawnmower as well. They are more environmentally friendly, easier to operate, and require much less maintenance than a petrol powered lawnmower.
