Description

Each unique volume intends to illuminate a facet of the world, and the complete anthology will confirm and challenge players’ thoughts and assumptions on what it means to be a Guardian, offering new and differing perspectives on the cosmic war that rages between the Traveler and its ancient enemies. They offer cautionary tales of how to stand against destruction, processes of how to find alliances among enemies, or teachings of how to balance your existence between two powers that care nothing about claims of any kind. Yet I am ostracized and labeled an extremist by the scientific community, and worse, by my family. Everything I have done has been in our family's name; to preserve our legacy and persevere over whatever may come. My distance and isolation are necessary to ensure I'm successful in my efforts. Failure is not an option. Either you see this now and understand me clearly, or you never will. But is not the Light also served by savage sacrifice? Accepted wounds? Blood spilled on the dust of distant worlds?

And this entry was originally from Grimoire cards released during TTK! You had four! Years! To change this! Why not just do it?!I know that we still have plenty of time for an announcement, and I know that COVID has probably slowed development, but it just seemed a little peculiar to me. That left only the Saint. And somehow, he could smell me. He knew something or someone guided the Shanks. Therefore, to understand the Darkness we study the Light. Just as Light is connected through space and time, so is the Darkness. And, just as the Light has those who serve, who act as hands, and heart, and will, there are those who wield the Dark in the same fashion. Bungie presents the Destiny Grimoire Anthology, a must-have collectible lore compendium designed and assembled for Destiny’s devoted and enlightened scholars and lore lovers, as well as fans of fantasy and science fiction storytelling. Your Shank came in here with you. It is hidden now, but I saw it. It is the key to your Light, is it not? There are enough explosives under us to tear a Walker apart."

The other story thread is far less interesting. Drawing heavy inspiration from westerns, it tells the tale of fallen hero Dredgen Yor and his rise and fall. It also fleshes out the history of The Last Word, one of the best guns from the game. Unfortunately, this story is well told but relatively bland in comparison. It’s a typical tale of frontier justice and revenge, told too briefly to leave much of an impact. The effects of Yor’s final battle is also told and provides an interesting epilogue, but it’s still a mere morsel if a tale. The place stinks. Rotting Fallen bodies preserved in crystallized glaciers tell the tale of battles lost, false promises, and failure. Main power seems to be out, so it'll be a long drop down the elevator shaft. I thought about it, and found I could not do it, given the choice. Out of fear? Indignation? Perhaps both. I thought I had nothing to lose. I was wrong. There are lessons in every link—they morph into myths, legends, forming a circle where true meaning is too often lost to a claim of righteousness. Then they hold their claim to truth over others, like it was theirs all along.
