I had to spend ages trimming down the ends of the springy bars before they would fit in the main bars, and even now require all my strength to fit together. I have to say for me though my airbed wins everytime have tried both and just don't like them, comfy enough but I just don't feel secure! But there was one other big difference -- the Halfords one was made of light aluminium, whereas the Argos one was made of steel. Its lightweight and perfect for festivals why slump it when with this bed you can do a festival in luxury .the major benefit in my opinion is the pack size, we also have 2 of the concertina beds that we put our airbed on top and they each take up about 8 times the size of the smaller one packed up. From Gelert tents and tent accessories to other camping gear like sleeping bags, camping chairs and tables, Gelert has truly got all bases covered. Only one negative point is that you need to be quite strong to fit the end bars, as you have to stretch the fabric to do it.

People around here seem to generally like the Argos camp beds, but I haven't seen anyone say anything about the Gelert camp beds. They had the exact same construction, with only minor cosmetic differences, so they probably were made by the same company.

The crossed bar ones are great my oh has one and loves it, but they are quite bulky, the kids have the smaller ones and they are a pain to get up but its a bit of a knack I think. One difference I can see is that the Halfords cheaper one doesn't have the raised pillow area that the other cheaper ones have -- I don't know if that can be raised and lowered though). I've just noticed that the Argos, Halfords and Gelert beds all look very similar, and have similar dimensions, so possibly Gelert is making them for Argos and Halfords, or maybe they're just directly they're just rebranding the Gelert ones.
